We, The Columbia Tribune, recognize the divisive nature of American society in 2018. We also recognize that there is now a clear difference between left-wing and right-wing media, and that a large amount of bias has perpetrated many media outlets. Cries of fake news and bad journalism are heard everyday, and it is important to us to divest ourselves from the issues plaguing mass media. Everyday, we see controversy arise in America, whether it is political, social, or racial in nature. We have decided to use our platform to discuss the controversies that are apparent throughout the nation. Even in our small community, national issues have taken the form of local political arguments, and online arguments over controversial events that have taken place. We feel that it is our duty to inform our readers about these issues, and highlight their varying stances on these arguments. Furthermore, we hope to encourage our readers to acknowledge and truly think about the problems arising in our nation today. We hope to continue delivering accurate information that inform the public about controversies in our community and on a nationwide scale.
